This is a cute little purse that I demonstrated at a workshop last weekend, and I want to give you the opportunity to get the supplies to make one of your own!

So how do you get yourself one of these? I need a little help from YOU. This blog is quite new, and I would like to know what you think of it and what you would like to see in the future. Would you like to see more tutorials, more stamping, more scrapbooking, more tips and helpful hints, storage ideas, video posts, reviews, competitions? I want to know! Leave your comments on this post to be in the running the pack. Posts will be accepted until Friday March 6, 2009. Please check back during that weekend for the announcement of the winner.

~The pack will include all the instructions and paper supplies to make the purse. I demonstrated it with the ‘Afternoon Tea’ range, so the pack you will receive will have the same colour scheme but may be different patterns from one displayed~

I have been busting to use a clear acrylic album for quite a while now, but just haven’t had any great ideas. I haven’t yet scrapbooked my wedding (from 7 years ago!), I’ve been waiting until I feel comfortable with my style, and I think I’m almost there. After I finish my little girls baby album, that will be my next big project. So for now, and since I’m blogging about love all this week, I’ve made a mini book of our wedding. Actually, I wouldn’t even go as far as calling it a mini book, more just a mini picture book that captures moments from our day. I really like it, there are a few things that I want to add, but I know that it wont be for a couple of days and I really want to share it with you guys!

Now, you have to excuse the pixilated photos, I never seem to get around to photographing my items during daylight, and my ‘mood’ lighting indoors at night is beyond ridiculous (don’t get me started!). So these are as good as I could get this evening. Once I take more pictures (maybe tomorrow), I will replace these ones. I will also get some close up of some of the finer details

I love that you can see parts of previous pages through all clear sections of the book, it’s like having a sneak peek. The acrylic book is only 10cm x 10cm, so it’s really quick to decorate. This size can be done in just a few hours or less. Give one a try!

I got stuck into my mini book yesterday, and wanted to share the progress I’ve made (not very much lol). I cut all the paper to fit onto my scalloped journal. While I was deciding on the order, I chose to use the backside of the dark burgandy paper from my previous post, as I felt it worked better with the other 3 papers. To tell you the truth, I didn’t even look at the other side when I was in the store.
Once they were all the paper was cut and I was happy, I started to glue them on with Mod Podge. Mod Podge is a waterbase sealer, glue and finish for all surfaces. I applied it wth a normal paint brush. You can also use a sponge applicator. I then gave the paper a quick rub to make sure the ends were stuck and let it dry. I have used this as a sealer in the past, but I have the glossy finish Mod Podge which leaves brush stroke evidence quite a bit. I prefer the matt finish, which is why im using mine as a glue.

This is the basic journal without anything else attached. I dont even have the inside pages covered with paper yet. Over the weekend I plan on making more of an effort on it. I’ll keep you posted

Inspired by Ali Edwards, I have chosen a word to be the theme for ME this year. The word I have chosen is SIMPLIFY. The definition of simplify is To make less complex or complicated; make plainer or easier (and I am also adding); to organise and de-clutter. For me, it’s getting back to the basics, getting back to what really matters, and not sweating the small stuff.
I have set some specific goals I want to achieve and to help remind me of what they are and to track how I’m doing, I will be making a journal/mini-book. Below are the core products I plan to use to create the book. It features my favourite colour burgundy, but i love the splash of teal in the top paper made by Bo Bunny. It was the paper I co-ordinated everything else with.

I will be using:
Scallop Planner by Kaisercraft
Rhinestone Borders by Kaisercraft
Papers by Bo Bunny, My Minds Eye & Prima Marketing
A quote card by My Minds Eye
Assorted Ribbons

Of course along the way I’m sure I will add more from what I already have on hand. Keep a lookout in the next few day to see the progress.
