Happy Labour Day to those who have the public hoiday today. I’m loving it because I don’t have to go to work!
Today’s Monochromatic card is in celebration of my friend
Melany finally having her baby girl last night! Way to go MEL! I have seen these cards on the internet and couldn’t resist making one for her. This is take 2 of making Melany a card, since my beautiful little girl decided she needed to add her artwork all over it before I finished it.

I started with the colour ‘Pretty In Pink’ from Stamin Up. A natural choice to accompany this is baby card is white, which is what I did. A great way to keep a card monochromatic is to use a watermark or stamp images in the same colour as the cardstock you are using. You can create a watermark with VersaMark ink, which Stampin Up sells. If left to dry, the VersaMark ink leaves a slightly darker colour than the actual cardstock. The VersaMark ink is quite sticky when you stamp it, which allows you to add embossing powder or glitter to it. I used the Heat & Stick and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to create the flower background and the swirl in the middle of the scallop circle. I like it becuase it gives some great detail and texture to the card without being overbearing.

And stepping away from the monochromatic-ness, I used one of the envelopes from the Carousel Notes in the current Mini Catologue and decorated it with a flourish from the Priceless stamp set with white embossing powder. The card fits perfectly inside.
I’m 0ff to the hospital now to see Melany and sweet little C.
