There is such variety in the new Mini Catalogue that its hard to know what to use first. I love the shape of the Top Note Die, and can’t wait to use it on some more projects.
I’m using the one of the new In-Colours, Rich Razzleberry, and any of you who are Purple lovers out there, will LOVE this colour.  It’s very easy to use!
I’ve cut out all of the smaller flowers and leaves and stuck them directly to the Whisper White card stock, while I added some dimensionals to the larger flower to raise it up.  I’ve also raised up the Top Note just for a bit of interest.  I’ve stamped the vine from the Vintage Vogue Stamp set on the Rich Razzleberry card stock, although I think next time I would use a lighter card base, perhaps Pale Plum for this card.

I’ve also posted this over at the Elite Challenge Blog

Well my little family is harbouring germs at the moment….STEER CLEAR….. and have been for the last week and a half.  So apart from using about 10 boxes of tissues, not much has been happening around here, hence the lack of posts….Sorry!
Wanting to get something done, I was inspired by my upline MARELLE to go back and complete some of the challenges from the Elite Challenge Blog.  It was a no brainer really.  The sketch was already there for me, I just needed to choose the colours.  You can find the Sketch Challenge HERE.  And this is what I came up with…..
I’ve used a stamp set from the new autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue, its called Vintage Vogue, and it my equal favourite with the Medallion Stamp.

I stamped an extra ‘F’, cut it out and mounted it on foam dimensionals to give it a 3D effect.  I’ve also added a few of the dimensionals to the white circle, to raise it above the So Saffron coloured circle.  You may not be able to tell from the photo, but the vines around the edge of the card have been clear embossed and the white straight piece of card stock has been through the crimper.
ENJOY

Supplies:
Inks: Versamark, Baja Breeze, So Saffron
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Whisper White, So Saffron
Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue
Other: Sponge Daubers, Pearls (Pretties Kit), Eyelet Border Punch, Crimper, Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Circle Scissors

I was hoping and praying that we might see the Medallion background stamp in one of the Australian Stampin Up Catalogues.  I have loved this stamp since seeing it in the USA Stampin Up Catalogue.   There are so many different techniques I want to try with this stamp….just a warning…….you’ll be seeing more of this stamp.
I decided to start out simple and just emboss the image in silver embossing powder onto some of the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I chose these colours as it’s basically the way I am feeling today…..not very colourful.  I’m getting the flu and didn’t want to be making to many decisions about colour.  Monochromatic cards are good for days like this.
You might notice that there is no greeting on the card…did I forget?  No, I’ve decided that I will stamp the greeting once I have an occasion to use it, that way I can personalise it the way I want.  I will probably either use white or black embossing powder for whatever sentiment I do end up using.
Since I cut the image in half, I still had another half so I just put another co-coordinating card together.  I have used the jumbo eyelts in pewter on both cards, but on the first card, I have added a clear rhinestone brad to the middle and on the second one I have used a half pearl from the pretties kit.

ENJOY

Ink: Basic Black, Versmark
Cardstock: Going Gray, Whisper White, Basic Black

The new Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue is here! That’s right!  And it’s the biggest Mini Catalogue we’ve seen yet!  Stampin Up have definitely given us plenty to work with until the new catalogue arrives later this year in in September.  I just wanted to share with you some of the great new porducts that the mini has.
THE BIG SHOT DIE-CUTTING MACHINE

The Big Shot is a sturdy manual die cutting machine used to die cut materials for use on crafts, home décor projects, and even clothing! You’ll love what the Big Shot machine–a six-time winner of Creating Keepsakes Reader’s Choice Award for best die cutting equipment and dies–can do for you.
Use our Stampin’ Up! exclusive dies to create die cuts and stencils with our artwork and designs for all your craft needs.  You’ll be able to cut and score 3-D items in seconds, or create embellishments for cards, scrapbook pages, or any other type of project by cutting multiple images at once.

The Big Shot works with ALL competitive dies, and the steel rule dies can cut through an impressive list of 50 different materials, including fabric, foil, and chipboard.

 CLEAR-MOUNT STAMPS

Our new clear-mount rubber stamps are the result of extensive research with the intent to maintain the very best image quality in the stamping industry, while at the same time offering the ease-of-use and storability inherent in repositionable clear-mount rubber stamps.

Clear-Mount Rubber Stamp Features

    • Nine different sizes of clear blocks available individually or as a discounted bundle.
    • Blocks have ergonomic grooves on all four sides for easy grip and traditional wood-mount feel.
    • Stamps and blocks are durable and easy to clean with your Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist.
    • Optional image labels on stamp backs let you decide if you want to see the image through the block or not.
    • Tight die-cutting for easy image positioning.
    • Large clear blocks can be used to create collages or spell words with alphabet sets.
    • Stamps store easily in standard, DVD-type cases with artwork on front and spine, making organization easy.

NEW PUNCH DESIGN
Starting with the new 2010 Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue and continuing with all new punch designs going forward, Stampin’ Up! has adopted a new body style for our punches!

A few features of the new punch style:

  • Low-profile, rectangular punch body allows for easier stacking and storing
  • Punches lock shut for easier storage and transport
  • Dual labels on top and end allow for easy identification and selection when stored
  • Available in three sizes: small, medium, and extra-large
  • New punches allow for larger punched images and more intricate designs while providing greater ease of use.
  • Extra -large punch images also allow for two-step designs like the Two-Step Bird punch in the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue
  • Larger, whole-hand handle design provides better leverage for easier use
While new punch designs will be in the new body style, existing designs will remain in the existing body style for now.
