WARNING …this post is a little long
My scrap area/space/room or whatever you like to call it has gone though so many different transformations over the years. It has ranged from a table in a spare room, to the kitchen table, to a trolley on wheels, to under the kitchen bench to what I have now…..a WHOLE ROOM! let me give the run down…….
The room I am in now was Isabelle’s baby room. We had kept the walls neutral and used the baby decor to add colour. She has since now moved to her ‘Pink Big Girl’ room, suddenly I have no more excuses not to use this room for my own good. I don’t think my hubby even got a look in when I said I had plans for the room lol.
So this photo is taken from the door, and yes I know it does look a little plain and uninteresting at the moment, but it’s all part of the transition from my last area….under the kitchen bench. You could call it my asylum, my white (un-padded) room.
These cube boxes were inspired by the ones at Ikea, and when my house grows up it wants to have lots of them. Hubby actually built these ones to custom fit the space under the kitchen bench. The black boxes hold ‘most’ of my scrapbooking supplies. I’ve got things like Ribbon, chipboard, stamps, ink, paint and a dedicated tool box in the boxes. The other 4 spaces has my cardstock, albums, and some magazines. The sheer boxes on top hold my patterned paper, unfinished projects, rub-ons and stickers. The framed scrapbook layout can be found

HERE. They are 2 of my most favorite projects at the moment, so I like to have them out for me to see and put a smile on my face.
This is my ribbon box (the only one that’s organised at the moment…eek). Its my favourite box because I love looking at all the colours.

This is my laptop, to the right I have my OTTE LITE (Thanks

HERE. I also keep my most recent card I have made sitting on top of my laptop before I put it away in my sample box. It serves two purposes, 1) gives me time to change my mind (not always a good thing lol) and 2) to enjoy what I’ve made and perhaps be inspired to make something else. You can see the card
HERE. I also have 2 Basic Grey Magnetic self healing cutting mats. One you can see and the other is under the laptop. I use these more when I am scrapbooking.
To the left, I have my basket of goodies. I keep pens, pencils, my bone folder, camera cable, notepad, and usually my camera ends up in here too. Its my go-to basket, stuff that I am constantly using. My mobile phone is always close by too.
On the wall I have my Stampin Up punches. They are being held up by some Ikea rack things and for the life of me I can’t think of the name of them. I also have Stampin Up ribbons, markers, adhesive, scissors and things that I use on almost every card/project I use making Stampin Up products. My heat tool is hanging from a hook on the window.
Then we have the built in robe which holds all my stamp sets. I’m hoping that my husband isn’t looking at this lol. I’ve also got my sample box, magazines, and below is a whole bunch of other scrappy things, but its a little scary at the moment, so this is as far as you get to see lol.
My space is always evolving. Right now it needs some colour, a little but of life and thats something that I’ll always be working on. But for now it suits me, calm and soothing lol.
I think the most important thing about whatever space you have, whether it be big or small……is that it works for YOU. It doesn’t matter if your friends uses a particular system, or a famous scrapper says this is the way to do it; make your space work for you! And that’s all I have to say about that 🙂
