Since it’s National Scrapbook Month, I really should have had more scrapbooking layouts up this month, but here’s one to tie you over til the next one.
This layout is for our Holiday to the USA Album. I always look forward to completing pages from this album. This was early on in our holiday while we were visiting friends in Indiana. They took us out to see ‘Amish Country’, an opportunity we never had before.
My favourite part of this layout is this map transparency, I have added white circle underneath it so you can see the map clearly. The reason why I was drawn to this was because of the locations on it. The town we visited is actually on this map! I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. Its part of a Travel transparent overlay book by Making Memories.
I added the lace to give a home-made look, it was my way of bringing a part of the Amish way of life onto my layout. They make everything by hand, and up close, this lace looks very authentic. I also roughed up and inked the edges of the Bazzill paper to help with the earthy look.
And the last part of detail you may not be able to see is the piercing and embossing on the scallop circle.
ENJOY!
